Default People need to listen

to what others have to say on the game, today I got really annoyed in HA at a person calling me a noob, I was in the party way before he joined, and once he'd joined, I'd announced that I, like many other players are having alot of lags, and while entering HA, the screen went blank, then sideways, then normal, but I couldn't move, he thought I was afk, then I said that I was here but lagging, he repetedly called me a noob and said that I shouldn't go afk, I was alive he was dead, and getting angry because I didn't res him, In said the rangers have used a spirit (I've forgotten the name) which prevents using res, again, he didn't listen, called me a noob again and told me not to go afk, so again, I typed that I'm lagging and the screen went sideways, he didn't answer, just called me a noob again.

This is just a small example of how alot of players don't listen, even to the most important things, I don't mind people accidently missing what I said, but not actually paying attention and making me repeat what I've written and still not paying attention and then insulting me because of something I couldn't control.

So like I said, when in combat, try and keep an eye on what people say and on the combat, if people repeat, and say that you didn't pay attention, apologise, after combat, scroll up and read the chat log, apologise for anything you done wrong, and before combat, don't take your eyes of chat log, you will miss something important.

Last of all, never insult people, especially before you know what's happened for sure, it would really help.

Well, I'm pretty sure that you attempted to join a HA PuG without a clue.

If you let people talk trash to you, you will get stepped on repeatedly. It was your own group, had you asserted yourself he would probably have never done it again.

I'm not just reffering to this point, I'm just saying that it'd make people feel much better about themselves if everyone payed attention, though I guess in real life there are people like that.

If you were having lag issues are you sure your messages got thru? It is all the same pipe, after all.

Yes because it is everyone else's job to make you feel good about yourself. What a n00b. You probably cry when someone says you are an ebayer too.

No matter if you were in my guild, you wouldn't get another PvP group if you lag that bad.

What is with all the people that come on here and whine. True that other guy was as big a n00b as you and had no right calling you names, since he didn't know Frozen Soil was in effect.

Yeah, dude, becuase Guild Wars is survival of the fittest! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen! They should already know everything about PvP before playing it. Its a game, so naturally everyone should be 100% competitive and constantly insult eachother over petty crap.

If you can't take the Constant Petty Crap Insult System (CPCIS) I suggest you stop playing the game now.

Anyway, Abaddon, that guy wasn't not listening to you. He didn't want to. People do that alot. That's why you don't just pick up some random guy in HA, becuase most of them are stupid and chockablock full of mental/authority problems.

Alot of the problem with people listing to you has to do with you listening to them. If you don't give heed or consideration to some people's suggestions, they may not be as inclined to listen to you. In those situations, make an honest assesment of your expirience and the expirience of the person talking.

All in all, most people today (and 80% of Guild Wars players) are unable to comform to group mentality. They have been exposed to selfishness for so long that a self-sacrificing attitude is nearly impossible for them.

Well, all the advice I can give is that if you want to find cooperative people, the people already with you, and you yourself, have to have those qualities aswell. This will make people who hate idiots want to stay with you.

Listening, though, doesn't have anything to do with being expirienced or being new, or what have you. Its about having the right mindset. Don't let anyone discourage you. You can be just as good as anyone else with the right attitude.

This game is full of spoiled 13 year-olds that are totally self absorbed. Bullied at school they finally have a way to be the bully themselves.

Either lower youself to their level and get in a name calling contest, or ignore them. If it get's too bad and you're with a mostly guild group like you said, go to guild chat and ask them to stand up for you like they should already be doing. If your guild will put up with an outsider harassing their guildie, they're not much of a guild anyway.

My guild would have put a stop to it instantly.

You know what I do when people throw some insults or start going on some sort of an online rage. I just type "haha" or "thanks". It usually shut them up for good. Makes them realize how stupid they are for ruining a perfectly good time. Also, happiness can't fuel anger.

Unranked pugs ftw...
Sometimes it gets so frustrating communicating without a mic. I mean a few days ago, the entire party was spamming on the chat screamed "PUT UP FROZEN" to one of the rangers. It took him minutes to put it up and he told everyone he didn't see the messages.

Some of the responses in here typify the jerk behaviour the OP encountered. Maybe if everyone trying to get involved in HA, new players and old who give it a shot.. maybe they should just not bother as they'll be called "noobs" and other childish crap even due to problems beyond their control.

Then all that will be left will be the stuck up people who need to boost their egos at the expense of other (anonymous) people online. As they get bored of the game and move on, PvP will ultimately self destruct from lack of new blood. That'll keep the name callers happy I'm sure.

1. someone told him frozen soil was in effect
2. when I said I, like many other players are having lags, it's the new updates.

Generalizations FTL. I'm tired of people always blaming the immaturity in this game on my age group. Sure it contributes, I acknowledge that. Do you acknowledge that your age group contributes to it also? Probably not. It's not always the 13-14 year olds people...

EDIT: Stupid quote...

Yeah, the game is full of spoiled 30-something year olds with kids who have nothing better to do than talk trash.
